Holy Cross
Anglican Church subscribes to the Faith of the One, Holy, Catholic
and Apostolic Church as expressed in the Apostles', Nicene and Athanasian
Creeds; and we believe that the Holy Scriptures, as interpreted by the
early undivided Church and the teachings of the Church Fathers, contain
all things necessary for salvation.
Holy Cross offers
traditional Anglican worship and fellowship and is ready to assist those
without church backgrounds as they seek salvation through
Jesus Christ.
The Holy Communion
is our central worship service. These services, with others, appear in
The Book of Common Prayer (1928) by which we join in and become a part
of the worship service.
Within The Book of
Common Prayer (1928), are the Daily Offices of Morning and Evening Prayer.
You are encouraged to pray the offices daily.
The Worship of God
is the focus of all our services, and is both our obligation and our joy.
We worship through song, prayer, Holy Scripture, homily or sermon. The
King James (Authorized) Version of the Holy Bible is used in our services
though many translations are used in our study and personal devotions.

The
beauty of the Anglican service appeals to us all. This tradition preserves
the best of the music, prayer, and forms of 2000 years. To enter into and
grow in the Anglican tradition offers a lifetime of joyous challenge and
satisfaction.
Come
and join with us in seeking both individually and collectively, to return
to God; giving due reverence to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, through
worship and service to Him.
We are a Parish Church of the Anglican Province
of America, who remain loyal to the doctrine, discipline, and worship of
traditional Anglicanism; We are dedicated to God, Family, and Country.
Axioms of Faith
We are a Mission Church of the
Anglican Province of America, who remain loyal to the doctrine, discipline
and worship of traditional Anglicanism; We are dedicated to God, Family,
and Country.
Our Faith is founded and based upon the following axioms
of Christianity:
| 1. |
We believe and confess Jesus Christ to be the
Way, the Truth, and the Life: no one comes to the Father but by Him. |
| 2. |
Holy Scripture as interpreted by Tradition and understood
by Reason contains all things necessary for Salvation and Christian Living. |
| 3. |
The Book of Common Prayer (1928) and its predecessors
back to the 1549 Book of Common Prayer of Archbishop Cramner. |
| 4. |
Thirty-nine Articles as found at the end of the Book
of Common Prayer on pages 603-611. |
| 5. |
An ordained ministry of Deacons, Priests, and Bishops
in Apostolic Succession and faithful to the Apostolic teaching of that
Faith once delivered to the Apostles by Jesus Christ. |
| 6. |
A Church committed to Christian family values. |
| 7. |
A Church that lives the Summary of the Law: “Thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind (Deut. 6:5). This is the first and great
commandment, and the second is like unto it; Thou shalt love thy neighbor
as thyself (Lev. 19:18). On these two commandments hang all the Law
and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40). |
| 8. |
A Church that is committed to the Great Commission:
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, and teaching them to
obey everything I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20). |
We are in communion with the
25-million member Anglican Church of Nigeria and the Reformed Episcopal
Church of North America. We are part of the Federation of the Anglican
Churches in the Americas and Forward in Faith in North America, a founding
organization of the Anglican Church in North America.
